Gifted Education Teacher

Bowling Green School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Gifted Education Teacher to support and inspire advanced elementary and middle school learners for the 2026-2027 school year. This position focuses on serving exceptionally gifted students through rigorous, engaging instruction, while fostering curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate will create a challenging yet supportive learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential.

Salary: This is a full-time, nine-month certified teaching position (179-day contract, 169 student days) with a salary based on the district’s certified salary schedule and commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction to identified gifted students using differentiated, research-based strategies
  • Develop and implement an enriched curriculum emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving
  • Support gifted identification using multiple measures and maintain accurate student records
  • Monitor student progress through assessments, portfolios, and data analysis
  • Address the academic and social-emotional needs of gifted learners
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support differentiation and enrichment
  • Communicate regularly with families and support student growth beyond the classroom
  • Participate in professional development, team collaboration, and district initiatives
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Qualifications

  • Valid Missouri Gifted Education certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and gifted education practices
